The Southern Kumundhoo Council Office is a legal entity established under the Decentralization of Administrative Areas Act. There are 5 councilors elected by the people of Kumundhoo. A council office has been established to implement the decisions of the council. The services of this agency are aimed at the people of Kumundhoo.
Services provided by the council.
There are many sources of information on these issues, but the most important is the fact that these issues are not covered by the existing laws. This includes setting rules and regulations for the day-to-day running of the village and making decisions on behalf of the people, maintaining the various social spaces and areas of the village and assisting other institutions
It is also the responsibility of the council to formulate a village level development plan and implement the plan as determined by the council and the government.
At the same time, the Decentralization Act has entrusted the council with 25 other different rural services including provision of basic services such as electricity, water and sewerage.
The council is responsible for managing the state funds and property in accordance with the Decentralization Act and the Finance Rules and is accountable to the people and government institutions for financial matters.
It is also the responsibility of the council to hold meetings with the people to share the achievements of the council's development plan with the people and to increase the participation of the people in the development.
Division of the work of the office.
The functions of the council office are divided into two main units. They are the Corporate Affairs Unit and the Economic Social and Municipal Service Unit. The main tasks in each of these units will be carried out by civil service employees.
